Dirt and Feldenkrais

Using the Feldenkrais Method, we reconnect parts of ourselves that have become separate.  The disconnection of these parts leads to tension and pain.  I just watched Dirt! The Movie, and was shocked and inspired by the similar message with regards to our relationship with Earth.  All over the globe humans have become disconnected from the sustainable, continually life-giving process that creates dirt.  With coal mining, asphalt jungles, mono-crops, corporations, greed, and fear, we are depleting the amazing micro-organisms that can turn trash into rich soil, and even create an alternative form of energy!  Dirt, like that spot in your own body that you might feel disconnected from, is very deeply connected to us all.  Separation from the dirt, which has been recycled and sustaining life for billions of years, is creating tension and pain, worldwide.  And just like reconnecting with that spot in yourself, rediscovering our relationship with dirt and soil can begin to ease tension and pain all over the globe.  It’s a herculean task, and it will take each of us doing the very best we can.  Watch the entire movie for free on Hulu!  A very worthwhile watch.
