Anat Baniel Method for Children with Special Needs

I’ve just returned from my first segment of training in the Anat Baniel Method Children’s Mastery Program.  Anat Baniel trained with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and taught The Feldenkrais Method and trained Feldenkrais practitioners for years before developing her own method for working with special needs children.

Student Lessons – Now through April 1, 2012
In order to continue my learning and share this method with special needs children in our community I’m offering Free Student ABM for Children lessonsThis offer will run now through April 1, 2012, the duration of my training.  Most children experience the greatest benefit from lesson-clusters of 2 lessons per day for 3 to 4 days.  Lessons take place at my downtown office location.  Call or email to schedule your child: 503-956-5842/cutlerjoanna@gmail.com

Dirt and Feldenkrais

Using the Feldenkrais Method, we reconnect parts of ourselves that have become separate.  The disconnection of these parts leads to tension and pain.  I just watched Dirt! The Movie, and was shocked and inspired by the similar message with regards to our relationship with Earth.  All over the globe humans have become disconnected from the sustainable, continually life-giving process that creates dirt.  With coal mining, asphalt jungles, mono-crops, corporations, greed, and fear, we are depleting the amazing micro-organisms that can turn trash into rich soil, and even create an alternative form of energy!  Dirt, like that spot in your own body that you might feel disconnected from, is very deeply connected to us all.  Separation from the dirt, which has been recycled and sustaining life for billions of years, is creating tension and pain, worldwide.  And just like reconnecting with that spot in yourself, rediscovering our relationship with dirt and soil can begin to ease tension and pain all over the globe.  It’s a herculean task, and it will take each of us doing the very best we can.  Watch the entire movie for free on Hulu!  A very worthwhile watch.
